October is a great month — especially here on Long Island.
Heading out east to experience the fall is one of our favorite things to do.
This month we'll celebrate my Mom's 60th Birthday. We are keeping it low key, as per her request, with a family dinner at her favorite restaurant, a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and a day upstate to pick pumpkins and apples.
In addition to that we are looking forward to...
our nephews' soccer games - all three boys play soccer now!
winter-izing the house and preparing to install our wood-burning stove.
It's one my favorite days. I hope that Molly loves it as much as I do.
I have yet to visit Starbucks for a pumpkin spiced latte, but I do enjoy one every fall!
I started decorating around the house a bit...
I love the way all the silver came together on my television cabinet. I want to add a large candle inside the lantern. The lantern was a centerpiece at Tara and Matt's wedding three years ago. Wow, time flies! I remember just finding out that I was pregnant with Molly a few weeks before Tara's wedding. Time flies!
I'd love to sand the cabinet and paint it an off-white and add new knobs. Put it on my project list — which is growing by the day.
We bought this cabinet eight years ago at Target, and it just works for us in this space and offers great storage on the bottom.
What I love wearing in October...
Cardigans (I love these any time of year, actually)
What I love seeing in October...
The leaves changing color
The leaves falling to the ground
Colorful Mums (I like the dark maroon and orange the best)
This is making me smile on my kitchen table.
What are you looking forward to this month?
